Hi Folks. Another top show yesterday with an eclectic range of dishes and superb wines to match. This week Chefs Pascal Proyart and Vivek Singh brought their culinary skills to bear on the Saturday Kitchen hobs and produced a seafood lover’s delight of a show. Wines this time were chosen by Tim Atkin and special guest funny man Matt Lucas faced his food heaven: Chicken and noodles or food hell: Asparagus (which he finds a bit too er... asparagusy ! )
First up the dynamic Pascal created Red King crab – a seriously huge beast - with polenta and wild garlic. Wild garlic is starting to sprout everywhere now so try and grab some when you’re next out for a walk but keep away from any that dogs might have been near….. : )

To wash this masterpiece down Tim went for a white not surprisinglyl and was tempted by a Picpoul de Pinet at first - always a great seafood match. He decided however that something with a bit more intensity was called for and headed to the pacific coast of Chile and selected the Encantado Tabali Reserva Chardonnay, a crisp and un-oaked example. Browse our Chilean Wines pages here too for some great choices.
2008 Chardonnay, Maria Pinto Reserva, Casa Rivas (Similar style and price)
Cooking live next, Vivek put together his Southern Indian Keralan seafood pie (which I’m going to try tonight if I can find everything !) Tim was tempted by an Albarino as a good match but instead decided that a sicilian 2010 Fiano would be a better choice.
Fiano 'fremendo' 2009/2010, Sannio Doc (similar)
Matt got his food heaven in the form of a spicy Chicken and noodle stir fry. Wine choice by Tim: Yali Gewurztraminer 2010
We hope you can try these fantastic wines which are available when you buy wine online here at WinedayUK. If we don't have an exact match in our present database we try to find something very similar in style and price range as per the expert's notes.
