I am unashamedly late with this blog this week and can only blame the unbelieveable weather we have had. Simply had to get out there for a few days so apologies for the tardiness and I hope this is still of some to use to anyone in the same boat.
Guest chefs this time were Kenny Atkinson and Jose Pizarro. Special guest Danny O’Donoghue faced his food heaven: Steak or food hell: Goats cheese. Wine expert Peter Richards, at the London international wine fair this week chose the wines to go with the dishes. All of these are available to buy wine online at WinedayUK
Peter was looking for a great white for Kenny’s dish and considered a Riesling - The Wild Earth from NZ – with 20000 bottles to choose from however he was a little spoit for choice. He finally chose the Cono Sur Viognier Reserva 2009 however to bring out the succulence in Kenny’s fab dish.
To wash this down perfectly Peter paused at a sherry – the Napoleon Amontillado from Hidalgo. In the end though, despite not being a big fan of Cava he did go for the Codorniu Raventos Cava which he felt would be a great accompaniment to Jose’s dish – everyone in the studio seemed to agree.
Peter came up with the Ramos Reserva from Majestic.
Another great show and we’ll try to keep better time for you next week. Enjoy !
