01 April 2012
This week James was joined by Theo Randall and the multi talented (and decorated) Cyrus Todiwala. Wines were matched to the dishes by Peter Richards and special guest Reggie Yates faced his food heaven – Fish, Chips and mushy peas or food hell: Duck.
Cooking first Theo Randall served up a fresh dish of Sea Bass in a lemon basil and vermouth sauce. To compliment the dish Peter checked out an Italian soave
first but then selected a finest Gavi which carries a crisp Italian elegance which should work well with the understated flavours in the dish
Cooking live next, Cyrus prepared a great looking country captain’s shepherd’s pie. For this typically Indian influenced version of the famous pie, Peter looked for a good red to suit this hearty dish and after considering a Jean Luc Colombo 2009 Cotes du rhone
which would have been an ideal match for the traditional pie. Cyrus’s adaptation however called for something a little different and Peter went for the fantastic Luis Felipe Edwards Carmenere from Chile at £4.99 it’s truly a bargain
Reggie got lucky at the end pf the show and got his fish and chips. Wine to match – connoisseur reserva sauvignon blanc 2011
