On The show this weekend James Martin was joined by celebrity chefs Adam Byatt and Francesco Mazzei. Wines to match were selected by Peter Richards and actor Jaye Jacobs faced her food heaven - Chicken or hell – lamb..
Cooking live first, Francesco made: Sardinian fregola with seafood Peter – this week hunting for wines in Chichester, reckoned a light red might work well with some of the dishes elements but that really what was wanted was a white and went for the Les Pierblancs, Loire valley Sauvignon blanc 2010 - £8.99 from M & S. Peter highly recommended this wine so it’s well worth it’s slightly more expensive price tag.
Next to the pass – Adam cooked up: Pheasant kiev, crushed swede, hazelnut butter and smokey bacon cabbage Peter’s choice for the dish was the Gerard Bertrand Minervois 2009. Another exceptional red for the price at £7.49 again Peter raves about the southern French red from the vineyards of the ex rugby star Gerard Bertrand. Snap some up for yourselves at Majestic ! (wine shown here is the Gerard Bertrand 2009 Pinot Noir)
Jaye was unlucky with the Heaven or hell vote and James served up her food hell – Lamb – in the form of a traditional Lancashire hot pot. Wine to match – Anthony’s yard, Graham Beck 2008/2009 from Majestic.
