Saturday Kitchen brought October to a fantastic, foodie start with superb meals cooked live in the studio by the legend that is Ken Hom and Jersey's Shaun Rankin. Resident wine expert Olly Smith made the wine matches this weekend. And Freddie Flintoff faced his food heaven and hell dilema.
First live recipe was by Ken Hom and he prepared the chinese classic: Beef in Oyster sauce. To accompany this Olly went for: Finest Côtes Catalanes Carignan, France.
Next on the hobs Shaun Rankin quickly assembled: Roast Rabbit loin with Morrocan-style couscous and Calamari. Olly chose: Viña Costeira, Spain.
Heaven dish: Haddock Goujons with Chips and tartare sauce may or may not have been matched with: Fiano Sannio, Italy
And Hell dish should Freddie have been unlucky - Harrisa Chicken and Potato Stew with Herby Chickpea salad. Wine chosen for this one: Bellota, Spain.
Please note - where the exact wine chosen by the Saturday Kitchen experts is not in our database the link provided will take to you to our extensive range of wines from the country of the wines specified where you will find many examples of similar wines.
